Craftmaster, Lacquer Craft
Craftmaster, Lacquer Craft BEWARE... Before purchasing

Construction & Repair

Before purchasing Craftmaster furniture, check out the item closely! I purchased a Lodge style chair from Currie's furniture in Traverse City, MI. After delivery I inspected the chair and realized I had just purchased a total piece of junk at a cost that should have been relective of quality manufacturing.

The chair had framing that was damaged, split open, screws stuck all over the place at random locations trying to hold the legs on. The framing components were misaligned, loose, open joints, etc. The wood carvings were all cracked open at various places. One wood arm was assembled with plugged screw holes on the exposed top and the other arm was assembled without the plugged screws (probably dowelled and maybe glued)! I can only imagine the condition of the upholstry after were to be used!

Note the following from a published article regarding Craftmaster, a NC, USA company... With Lacquer Craft's expertise in sourcing upholstery products abroad we have the ability to enhance the Craftmaster product line by taking advantage of the benefits that China offers to domestic upholstery manufacturing, said Chrisley. To add cut and sew fabrics, leather upholstery and exposed wood components produced in China, gives Craftmaster a distinct advantage in the marketplace.

I should also add that the retailer, Currie's Furniture, apologized for the condition of the chair and is willing to order a replacement at an additional cost, as I purchased the original chair at a clearance price. However, I probably will get another piece of junk!

The chair I purchased was out of stock directly from the manufacture and was not a floor model. My complaint is with the MANUFACTURE not with Currie's Furniture.
