Contract Issues From the beginning

Construction & Repair

We spoke to neighbors who used Blue Haven and were happy with the end result. We contacted them and arranged a date to meet with Josh Wilson to design the pool for us. We spent over 3 hours with him and were talked out of a hot tub. After him leaving we decided it was in our best interest to have the hot tub. We were contacted by Eva from their "finance department" and told we were approved for a certain amount but the pool cost was $12,000 less than what was stated on our contract. We were asked if we were a contractor for the company to be receiving such a discount.

We said no, she fumbled through papers and did not know what to say for a short time. She then stated she had her papers wrong and we were approved for the amount needed. What in the world was she looking at? We went in to the Webster office where we signed the cancellation of our contract. Josh could not understand why. We stated it was not the pool wanted and after Eva spoke with us we were worried about the cost of the pool. Josh called us the next day and stated the General Manager, Bill Unger, said he would do our hot tub for $3000, which had never been done before.

We went into the office a couple of days later and set up our pool and hot tub exactly how we wanted. We were contacted by Melissa in finance who stated they would lower their broker fee. We were sent the approval from the lender and the closing documents. Our closing costs were high. So we called Eva and Melissa, who by the way are brokers with the company name Winners Corporation. They stated no one could do better than that and the fees were as low as they could go.

We contacted our bank, who approved us with no closing fees. We left a message for Eva and Melissa about the local banks offering no closing fees. Melissa returned our call. She was rude and hateful. She was about to hang up when we stated we just wanted information. She told us to go with what ever loan but they could not do any better. It took us a total of 10 days to get our application to the bank, get an approval and a close date. Our close date was set for 2 days after we were told we were approved.

We were contacted by Josh several hours later and told to call him before we went to close, there was a problem with the pool. I already had surveys going on in my backyard. They wanted more money to build the pool.

After several days of emails and phone calls we wanted to make sure we were not liable for these surveys. Blue Haven will not build this pool and we can suggest to anyone looking into having a pool built. Read the BBB about every company you are looking at, also look here. Most complaints about Blue Haven is about more money. We are lucky the hole had not been dug before all this happened. It started out great, but within a couple of days went to being STUPID because no communication takes place between all the Blue Haven Parties involved.
