Took my deposit money, did no work, and disappeared

After finding Jon Chrzanowki and Dynamic Construction and Home Repair through an ad in the paper we asked Jon out to give an estimate. He seemed a decent guy and had good references. We paid him a 50% deposit on some built-in cabinets. He took measurements and left. We had a signed contract saying the work would be done in 4 weeks. We spent the next 4 months getting excuse after excuse as to why he could not come out and do the work. He always said "the cabinets are done but..." Finally he stopped responding to emails and messages. It has been over 3 months since he responded to anything. He took our money, did no work, and disappeared. Do not work with Dynamic Construction & Home Repair LLC or Jon Chrzanowski.
