Advertizes inexpensive duct cleaning, DON'T believe it ripoff

Icon cleaning was called to clean my AC air ducts. We called them because of the ad in a local newspaper. They say they will clean up to 8 ducts for $69 (or something like that).

When they arrived, they immediately removed all 12 of my vent covers and told my wife we had a BAD mold problem and it would cost me over $2500 to clean. When my wife called me at work, I told her I didn't believe it and that the technician should replace the covers and leave.

He refused to replace the covers (if you've never put up vent covers on sheet rock ceilings, I can tell you it is not easy). I also called the company and spoke to two managers who felt it was not their responsibility since I didn't choose to let them do the work. I hired someone to come to my home and replace all 12 covers for more than $200.

I then called a duct cleaning company that was listed on the duct cleaning assoc's web site. They came to my home and inspected the ducts and told us there was clearly NO MOLD. They cleaned our ducts for $350.
