Former Employee Seeking Back Pay ripoff

I worked for Broquard back in 2005.

At first it was a nice place, but over the next few weeks, he became more and more demanding, abrasive and impossible. He would often berate workers in front of the other employees, somtimes shouting profanities at them. He demanded long hours but would not compensate workers for it. He was nice enough to loan me a few bucks when the checks were going to be late, but not long after that, I had 3 checks come in late and when he finally distributed them, they all bounced.

Workers began cashing their paychecks immediately at the bank he used because that was the only way to be sure you got the money. Even then, there were times when the bank came close to refusing our checks. Jerome's accountant bore the burden of our complaints and did his best to make sure we got paid, but we could see that he feared for his job most of the time. He told me that Jerome had another accountant that helped him fix his books and as such hasn't paid taxes in years.

I don't know if that's true, but the accountant seemed believable to me. IRS should check into it anyway. I finally quit after having taken all I could take of this man. Numerous employees quit, some after having only been there a week or two. The man kept nearly a dozen cats in the offices which stank of cat piss and crap and there were fleas everywhere. The landlord of the building told me that Jerome was going to be evicted if he didn't keep the cats from crapping on the roof (one of the offices had windows that opened to the roof of the 1st floor). I understand that he was finally evicted.

After I quit, it took the matter up with the Labor Board, had my day in court and won my case because niether Jerome or his lawyer showed up. I'm owed over $4000 but I've not seen a dime of it yet and so I have a collections agent pursuing the matter.

I'm pretty sure the assembly workers and cleaning people were all illegals, that Jerome ripped off clients and suppliers and that he owes ALOT of people money.

That's just a few of the things I've seen going on in his company. I'm sure others can tell you a great deal more.

I was a former federal employee with the Office of Homeland Security and in Naval Intelligence prior to working for Broquard. I'm now back in the government and I'm glad to see that justice has finally caught up with him.

If anyone can tell me what has become of Broquard's company and if he's still in jail or not, I'd appreciate it.
