Ripoff dishonest contractor, withheld money and did not complete work in Chico, cal

We had a home built by this contractor. He is very dishonest, trying to steer us towards all his buddies, family and other friends for sub-contracting at triple prices. He almost made it so we couldnt have the house we wanted to build. He made verbal agreements "we dont have to put EVERY word in writing" and then backed out on completing the basic work that is included in building the house, let alone anything he said he would do.

Agreements to his advantage, made in the same conversation, he held money to cover. We dont even have hot water in one of the bathrooms, because "THERES NO MONEY LEFT". Our a/c unit in the house makes more noise than the Boston Pops, and then there isnt any a/c in the home office, so computer equipment fails etc. Don still owes us for cleaning up the worksite, because if we hadnt, there would still be garbage all over the place.

They never even bothered to cleanup after themselves when they ate lunch! And you wanna talk about slow? If we hadnt done some of the work ourselves, we still wouldnt have a place to live because he had 1 person working on the house 90% of the time. He still owes us between $5000 and $11000 depending on whether I should hold up my end of the verbal agreements or not. We will take this to court! Beware this guy is dishonest and not ashamed of himself!
