Ripoff BEWARE of Modernage Furniture Sell merchandise not is stock!

I bought a 4 piece leather furniture set by Viewpoint at Modernage. After I paid for the furniture in full, I went home and spent the entire day, rearranging my garage so that I could fit my old furniture which I was going to later, send to my son the following month when he moved out. I am 55 years old and I was exhausted after moving everything with my husband. We have very heavy furniture pieces in the garage. The next day, we got up early and went and rented a truck to pickup the new furniture at Modernage.

We were at Modernage when they opened from 12:00noon until 5:00pm waiting outside at the loading doc. It was 92 degrees. Finally they came out and said they could not find all the pieces. When I went in to talk to the salesperson and/or manager, I saw the workers picking up one of the floor samples of the pieces that were missing from my order. I looked at the invoice they had and verified that it was mine. I told the salesperson that I paid for new furniture, not dirty, scratched up, used floor samples. I asked that they deduct the cost of what it would cost me to buy the missing pieces at another store.instead they charged me for the pieces they had in stock individually which turned out to be more expensive. The leftover money was not even enough to buy one of the missing pieces. Then they told me, "We didn't even want to sell you this furniture at this price anyways".

Finally, the only thing I could do was to have them give me a refund and to top it off, they acted like they were doing me a favor. No compensation for the rental or all the work we did to move the furniture. Now we have to go back and move the old furniture back into the house. It's just not right what they did!!
