Louisville Ladder
Ripoff Ladder Incident

Construction & Repair

July I was working on my shed roof and setting shingles on the edge of the roof using a Davidson Model W-30012-06 step ladder. This ladder folded up as I was decending it, as result I ended up in the Emergency Room of the local County Hospital having sustained contusions, cuts, and a badly sprained wrist.
I contacted the retailer Walmart and Louisville Ladder (the manufacturer) last year and it appears they plan to wait out the one year limit of libility. I have not gone back to a doctor although I suffer from a left shoulder which has not been the same since the accident and my left hip was injured to a degree I no longer can lay on my left side.

I have a bent ladder I did fill out a claim form and provided copies of the hospital bill, photos of the ladder, drawings of where the ladder was and a narrative of what happened. I manage a tree farm (at the time full-time) and was unable to work for several months after this accident. I did not exceed the ladders safe load or working height when the accident happened and the ladder was approximately one to one and one half years old at the time of the accident. I have all documentation and the ladder. I would like compensation for work lost and medical related costs and a new ladder. I feel I have been reasonable and would like Louisville Ladder and Walmart to shoulder their respective responsibilities to a consumer. The person from Louisville Ladder who contacted me is Marilyn Polsgrove.
