Deceptively lock customers into contracts

This company uses door-to-door solicitation for pest-control services. The prices offered are lower than the competition but reps do not make it clear that when you agree to service, you are agreeing to a 1 or more year contract.

I tried to cancel service because my dog broke out in a terrible rash shortly after my first treatment (also i have an infant child and did not wish to subject him to possible harm.) bulwark's answer was that they could switch me to "organic" pesticide but that i would be responsible for a $250 cancellation fee if i did not wish to continue service.

Facing the cancellation fee or a collections notation on my credit report, i am forced to continue service until my contract is up.

This company obviously cares about making short-term money, not long-term customer satisfaction... Beware!
