Construction & Repair

On March 4 we purchased the Chelsey Entertainment Center. It was delivered on March 21. This consists of one tv console, two tiers and a light bridge. (light bridge also has a shelf.)

Upon delvery, the left tier and light bridge was damged beyond repair. We sent that back. Delivery was to reorder and send aonther asap. We contacted the Avon store and talked to the Assistant Manager. She told us that it would be two weeks to redeliver. She allowed us to come to the store and get the demo. We got the left tier. The light bridge shelf was damged on the floor. One week later, after waiting all day, they redelived the light bridge and the right tier. (wrong tier) the light brige shelf did not fit. It was miss drilled.

The saleperson said it would be delivered again to the Avon Store. Delvery called to confrim this. The salesperson also said though she was off Friday April 6th she would come in to inspect the shelf and call us to pick it up on April 7th. We called on the 7 th and found that the sales person was not there and nither was the shelf. After many calls to the home office, they delivered the shelf to the greenwood store and it was damaged to a degree.

We have talked to the manager on duty, the district manager and manager in charge of delvery. We have made two trips to Avon, (living on the south side of Indy.) Delivery tracked dirt on our carpet. We have been told that almost 200.00 would be refunded but no such refund has occured. They promised to have capet cleaned and shelf fixed and still this issue is unresolved as of this date, April 14.

We have cleaned our own carpet. Got most of what is needed our slef to assemble the entertainment center. We have been filled to the brim of false promises, no follow through on anyones part ot Sofa Express. Matter of fact thier attitide is one of simplu not caring. It is if we have been labled as constant complainers vs victims of happenstance.

I have never gone this far to try to resolve any issue. We understand that things happen. This has gone way beyond normality. It is more the nonchanlant attitide the company has the has upset us more than anything else. I have read reports they are closing about 20 stores. Not sure if this is true but if this is indicutive of thier normal service, I can see whyit may be true.

We have had much furniture from other companys and none of them treated us in this way. Not even close!
