Ripoff disappeared with deposit for work to be done never did work

Wyatt Squeo and independent contractor (sometimes) was hired to replace the front door and trim to my condo. We discussed time frame, materials, and price and agreed to a 50% deposit ($600). Well, he took the check and "went to go order the door". After 30 phone calls and 2 1/2 years of attempts to get him into court, he still hasn't returned the money, done the work, or acknowldges that he's a thief. I recently found out through an attorney that Squeo has been sued for the same thing twice in the past. If only I had known...
