Co Either fraudulent furnace assessment or gross neligence Ripoff

On January 2, I called AJ Furance Repair Co who advertises that they have same day service that my furance did not work. A workman arrived later that day and immediately informed me that I had a cracked furnace. Then he said that the pliot light when first coming on would burn out the regulator wires. Then he told me I needed a new regulator, but that it would be worthless to do so because of what he said before and that he'd have to be back in two weeks to repair it again. His final conclusion was that I needed a totally new furance and that his estimate was $2,700.00. I told him that I was in shock and that I could not afford that at that time. He said that I would need to pay for the service charge $65.00 which I paid with my check number 4154. Finally, he assured me that AJ Furance Repair Co would not only provide me with a receipt for the service call, but also send an estimate of a total new furance cost. Not only did I never receive anything from them (receipt for service or estimate), but after two weeks I contacted another furance repair company and in 30 minutes, replaced only the faulty regulated for a total of $700.00. I was ripped off and would have been more so.
