Offered great service until they had all my money, now I can't get them to finish my house. Overdue 4 months. Ripoff

Palm Harbor salesman Terry Jones told me he could have our house FINISHED in about one month, "conceivably 3 to 4 weeks". My MOTHER has mid level ALZEIMERS and my FATHER has PARKINSONS and has had STROKES. My parents doctor gave us a letter saying we needed to place a home on our family property to care for them.

I have found they tell each customer a different compleation time line depending on what is required to make the sale.

The customer service was great through July 13th when we gave them the cashiers check for the remaining balance of the $183,400 selling price. After that, things have gone to hell.

It is now December 7th, and the house is STILL NOT FINISHED.

I have contacted everyone up to the president of the company to no avail. Woodburn sales manager Dave Conway has the unique distinction of having lied to me every single time I have talked to him (100%).

If you set a date to file legal action, they will show up and fiddle around on the last day.

It took 34 days from start of set up to get the roof what they said was finished, and then it failed inspection. I also found a patch where they had put different color shingles on the back side where it couldn't be seen except by climbing on the roof.

My state senator finally had the state building division do another (2nd) thorough inspection, so PH people were there the day before working like crazy. I do know at this time they will have to come back and correct at least one item THEY HAD TOLD the state they had corrected, and WERE INSISTING THE ROOF HAD ALREADY PASSED INSPECTION because of telling the state they had completed all items of the original failing report. There are several other items to be corrected that were not covered on the original inspection.

Terry Jones told me they felt bad about the house not being done, but that I had to understand how bad they had it because they had to give back money to a customer (who had found out about my house).

I do want to tell you that the kid that is their "factory trim out crew" does an excellent job on the part he is responsible for. And the cleaning crew (3 People) did a good job.

I have a pending case accepted by the AGs office over delivering different product from what was shown to me on the display model.

I wouldn't deal with another Palm Harbor Home
if it were given free to me.
