Moving Company Ripoff! Dishonest liars

My mother found this company online and spoke with William "Bill" Curtis. She thought they were nice and reasonable so she booked the move with them. The move was scheduled for Sunday, October 15 but she was not given her until Tuesday, October 17. When my mother called, Mr. Curtis identified himself as the owner when my mom first spoke to him. But when issues arose, his title changed to General Manager and then Supervisor. Mr. Curtis quoted my mom a price for the move. When his movers got to the house, they charged her more than twice that amount. They refused to unload the furniture until payment was made!!!

They kept her furniture for two days because she questioned the inflated amount!!! Finally, we felt that we had no choice so we paid them. No sooner they got paid, they unloaded my mother's funiture in the garage and took off! To make matters worse, they damaged most of the funiture and we have to replace it! They are a complete and utter ripoff company. They are professional liars. According to their information on Yahoo, they in business since 1970 and are members of the BBB. However, on the BBB of Metro Washington website, they are NOT a member and have only been in business since 1999! To date, they have had 36 complaints filed with BBB. They operate using several numbers including 301-625-5001,202-726-1700,703-212-7800,410-953-0017. Their MC # is 392197 and DOT # is 832023. If you value your money, your time and your furniture.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Also, check out (ROR redacted link) and usacomplaints.com for similar experiences by other customers. Unfortunatly, I found out too late but hopefully, this helps the next person.
