First I was quoted a price for the move and paid the deposit (1/2 of the quote), then given the two day window. As you've probably already seen - they never stick to the two day window. I told them I needed to drive to Maryland from Tennessee (about an 18 hour drive with all the stops for gas, etc.), and I had to be there on 5pm Thursday night.

They gave me a Tues/Wed window for pick up. Then called and told me that they would be there at 4pm on Wed. I told them that was cutting it too close - I needed to be on the road for Md. They PROMISED me they would be there. Then they called at 4pm Wed to say they had a flat tire and would be 4 HOURS late!

I couldn't wait and had to get a neighbor to open the townhouse for them - I had to drive all night and couldn't keep waiting around for them to show up. They arrived about midnight on Wed., they were supposed to call me and let me know when they picked up my furniture (they never called), then they were supposed to deliver to me on Sat. Sept 23rd.

They called me back (after several irate phone calls to them asking where they were, what the status was of the move and how much was the balance going to be...) they called me at 5:45pm friday night 9/22 to tell me that my furniture could be delivered on Sat morning, but was going to cost me TRIPLE the quoted amount!

I've moved 3 times in the past year and this is the first and LAST time I'll use Nationwide or M&M movers. The past 3 moves cost me 800.00,900.00, and 1200.00 consecutively - never has it cost the 2800.00 these guys are demanding. Not only that - but they told me I had to pay in cash! I said I wanted the truck re-weighed and they won't do it until I pay them! I only have boxes that I've moved, 2 TVs, an excercise bike and a stair stepper - one couch and 2 computer desks. No other furniture. No bedroom sets, no coffee tables, end tables, no dining room set - only boxes. THEY ARE RIPPING ME OFF.

When I told them that the estimate had been 1/3 of their price and I would have to get the money on the 29th (my pay day), they said that if I waited until then, the next time they could deliver was the end of October!!! And I'll encur storage fees (very high storage fees). This is extortion! They are crooks and Nationwide did not co-ordinate anything. Handle your own move! Co-ordinate your own move and believe me you will be a lot happier!
