Ripoff dishonest fraudulent billing

In July of I went to Furniture Warehouse to buy livingroom furniture. I had moved to Baton Rouge in May my furniture was damaged in the move. I am in the military and this was not the first move or the first damage for my furniture.

Anyway, after looking all over town (including Furniture Warehouse) for furniture that I liked, I found a color of leather that I liked but was concerned about the price. I could guaranty that if I split the purchase of a livingroom set that the set would remain in stock. A coworker told me about an order she made at Furniture Warehouse and took me there to order.

I ordered a couch and loveseat hoping to order the one seater at a later time. I received a great price for leather furniture and delivery. I left Suzanne with my information, while she attempted to find financing.

I went out of town and while I was gone, the financing was completed by Suzanne tslking to my coworker. I never signed any financing paperwork. I later, received a bill from Excel finance company stating how much I owed them. There were no terms given just a late notice.

I have been paying the bill ever since. I spoke with Suzanne and she stated that the furniture should only take a month to deliver.

At the end of August, Hurricane Katrina came. Suzanne told me in Sepptember that the Hurricane slowed delivery and she should get the furniture during the next week. I travel alot so when in town I would call or stop by. I would even send friends by. I would get the same answer or a similar one. After a while no one would answer the phone.

I stopped by in November, and told her that I need the furniture by Thanksgiving or needed to cancel the order. I really needed some furniture. No furniture was delivered. I gave her one more opportunity to deliver, and she didn't. She told me then that the furniture company was out of stock of the furniture that I ordered. She basically lied to me the whole time.

I told the finance company what was going on, but they did nothing. They gave me the owners number, but said they could not reach the business number. When I called the owner (Thomasse), he told me that he had just had surgery from cancer and would have to get in touch with Suzanne. I never heard from him again and his number changed.

I asked a law professor that I knew what to do. He asked, "Are you paying for the furniture?" I told him that I was. He asked me why. I didn't want my credit to be messed up. I was trying to clean it up at the time. This store is very far from where I live and when I go out that way they are always closed. I'm basically still paying for furniture that I was never going to get. I am currently researching small claims court.
