Moving U 4 Less
Total Rip Off - Charged me for a weight that wasn't true

Construction & Repair

I didn't know the company I was getting, since I went through Nationwide which is a broker, until I signed the contract with Nationwide. Nationwide gave me a quote and told me that I would need to have a cashier check, money order or cash when my things were delivered.

When the movers came to pick up my furniture they informed me they would not take a cashier check. Too bad, I had already had one drawn on my bank account. After talking with Nationwide, I was told yes they would accept it. The men who loaded the truck were not careful with boxes or furniture. I honestly did not know if my things would make it across country in one piece. I was moving from Seattle to Virginia.

The night before they were to deliver the furniture I was told that I owed an additional $1040. That my weight was 4020 lbs instead of 3000 lbs. That was impossible. I had just made the move from D.C. To Seattle exactly one year ago and I was bringing less than I took (left a complete bedroom suite, a computer table, a Television, a sewing machine in a cabinet, all my sons clothes and college books, and in my SUV I was taking 6 boxes, all my framed pictures on my walls, my clothes, etc.) There was no way I had more in coming back. Going I had a total 3800 lbs.

I was informed I could have the truck weighed but the closest scales were 2 1/2 hours a way. Since we would have to weight it twice that was a total of 10 hours on the road. I was also informed again they would not take a cashier check. Again we argued this and I at least won out on this.

They didn't deliver my legs to my dining room table, my vacuum cleaner and a good size box that has all my family pictures. Something you cannot replace. When I informed them I was missing my table legs they just scrugged their shoulders and said oh well.

This was the worst move I have made. I would not recommend this company to any and I have also informed Nationwide not to use this company. I will not use them nor Nationwide again for one of my moves.
