Agreed to reimburse for a/c repair, then refused to pay $727 claim Rip Off

Construction & Repair

In April of I called AHS for A/C repair in a rental home and pre-paid for service call. AHS called back 4 hours later and said they put a hold on servicing my a/c unit in Sept. They said their service technician said that I needed to make repairs, however there was nothing on the invoice about needing repairs. I called a local A/C company who replaced the evaporator coil at a cost of $727.

When I received my credit card statement, AHS charged me for the service call they refused to make. When I called them regarding the charge I asked why, if there was a hold put on servicing my A/C unit in they provided service in and why, if the a/c needed repairs, the tech didn't make the repairs or tell that repairs were needed. They said that I had not maintained my unit, but told me if I provided invoices showing that it was maintained, they would pay for the evaporator coil.

I had my unit serviced (general maintenance) in the spring of 2004. AHS serviced my unit in May for a freon leak. I had my 2004 general maintenance and spring and fall 2005 general maintenance done, and everything was working fine. I submitted these invoices (in May) along with the invoice for the evaporator coil and requested payment.in July I received a denial letter saying I had not gotten prior approval for repair.

I have used AHS for 5 years, and have called them for a/c repair 4 times (freon leak), and twice for a plumber. I should have saved that money and I could have more than paid for the evaporator coil. AHS is a rip off.
