Scott Holland ripoff, Took $2000 from us when we could not afford to buy the house we originally wanted, did not refund our earnest money

We went to Taylor Woodrow homes in Goodyear to build a house and decided upon a spec home they had available. They had already put in the permits since it was a spec home so they did not have to do anything extra for us to buy the home.

We went to the design center to pick out the upgrades, which were not much, and afterwards spoke to the financing department about the loan. Because they were offering cash incentives, we had to go with their lender. The lender was unable to offer us a decent loan program and the monthly payment was Outrageous!

Needless to say we could not pay a mortgage that was $700 more a month than what we were already paying. We proceded to cancel the contract after only 5 business days and from the mouth of the sales person that told us "Taylor Woodrow is not in the business of taking people's money, if it doesn't work out you will get your money back" we were told after 2 weeks of countless phone calls that they would be keeping our $2000. $2000 that we borrowed from a family member since we didn't have it in the first place!

What a lie that Taylor Woodrow tries to help families in need on Extreme Makeover Home Edition yet they are ripping off inocent people at the same exact time!
