Contractors Beware Ripoff

We have a contract with Beverly Nichols dated Nov. 18 2004 in which she was to pay Bi-weekly for services performed at River Run apts.in Manassas, Va. She was slow playing at first past 60 days in the beginning and then toward the end of the job being CO she stopped paying altogether. It is now April 20 and I have sent out another notice for her to pay her debt of $5,910.34 the last payment I recieved from her was 07/29/05 for $2000.00. The original contract amount was for $99,103.40. We have kept in touch and she always has an excuse for why she can't pay.in which one of the excuses was that she had liens aganist her for the same job we were doing and she needed to pay them first. I was told there were 2 other contractors that were facing the same problem I was.in addition to the money issues she constantly changes her mind (after contract is signed and agreed upon) about color selections and type of paint even after an order has been placed. Custom colors cannot be refunded by the paint store so someone has to eat that. I have everything in writing including correspondance between her and I on this job. I hope others reading this will be cautious when signing a contract with her and ask for your money upfront.
