Ripoff on moving household goods

State to State contacted us about our move. We lived in California at this time and I had one week before I had to report to work. They gave a great price but we noticed it was only for half of our household goods.

We contacted them again and the price went up a couple hundred dollars but the price was still good. The day of our move State 2 State showed up and told us that the cost was only for half our belongings. To cancel would have been $400.00. Now we had to take them.

They then said it is customary to give them a tip of 15% which would have been about $400.00. We gave them a hamburger. I was told when I arrived in Massachusetts to give them a call for delivery.

I called and was told it would be delivered in about 10 days. 14 days later I still did not have my household goods. It took another 7 days before my households arrived.

My boxes were torn apart, crushed and basically destroyed. I had items falling out of the boxes. Whem I went to look in the truck I was told to stay out. Even though the day of pick up I was aloowed in.

I went in anyway and picked up personal items from the floor of the truck. My mattress was covered in a black grease. On top of all the damage some items were missing all together.

The driver to give us box that belonged to another family, in fact I had already checked that box number off and I caught the error. To top it off the guy on truck was unhappy because I kept calling to find out where my items were. Then he still wanted a tip after all that.
