On 12/10 my wife and I ordered carpet from Empire Carpet. After considering the amount saved. Right! We were told that the carpet would be installed on 12/10. I asked many questions to the sales rep "Tim". Like what if not enough carpet is sent? Answer: They have to get more to finish the job on that day no matter what. Over course I asked other questions too but I won't go there.

So 12/10 - which was Saturday morning, I woke up to the excitement of the new carpet. At 10:30 I called our sales rep. He said to call the 1-800 numbers. So I did and they assured me that they would be there to do the job. At 2pm I got a call from their installation dept that I was being bumped. Call the 800 number to reschedule. Pissed as I was, I called and scheduled Tuesday. So I took the day off from work and two guys showed up.installer's - RIGHT. They could not speak a work of English and they wanted their money first. But just before I was going to pay they told me that they did not have enough to do even one room. I tried calling their office and know one would answer the phone and the 800 number was not helpful either. I told the two men that I would not pay until the right amount of carpet was here and ready for installation. Called the 800 number again and set up a new installation date for Thursday.

At this time I asked my mother if she could be at my house sine my wife and I could not be there. Around 10am she calls and tells me that they brought the wrong padding 6 lbs instead of 8 lbs and that the two men wanted payment. Bottom line called Empire and the warehouse, WOW - I got a person. They said that they would be sending over a roll of new padding and to tell the workers not to go. Well, they just left and never came back. Empire called me around 4pm to see what the matter was - My God, I fired them Thank God. Do your self the favor, spend a little more money on other dealers and save yourself the headache and lies. Oh yes, I was told by the sales rep that they only carry 8 lbs in stock. Right, after all we have been through all of my friends and co-workers will never use this company.

Some advise to Empire, get rid of the old humble man in the commercials and find some unprofessional illegal workers doing the commercials, this would be the perfect setting. After this message Empire will rebuttal with some BS and how they are surprised. Don't be fooled!!! Note* While reading some good reports about this company look in the areas of service compared to CA, and some other southern states. Mmmm Wonder why? They also belong to the BBB, just to look good and to keep a bad track record a little cleaner. It's little tricks like this that keeps this company afloat.
