JC Painting And Remodeling
Incomplete work, misrepresentation, missed deadlines

I hired JC Painting & Remodeling to repair some damaged Masonite on my home and to repaint the house. Per the contract, work was to begin on June 27 and be done, "... On or before July 13."
Total cost of the job was $3650. I paid $1825 up front.

Materials were not delivered to the site until a week after the start date, the same day they began work. Two men worked approximately two days replacing siding on just my chimney. The completed that work and I didn't see anyone again for nearly two weeks.

All this time I made phone call after phone call and no one ever called me back. Finally I left a voice message threatening to call the police and John Cunningham (owner) called and assured me he was going to start work again in the next couple of days.

One guy showed up a couple of days later and all he did was walk around and cauld. But, since he was afraid of heights, he couldn't/wouldn't complete the wood-work.

After waiting another week for work to begin, I finally called and told Mr. Cunningham that since they were more than a month past the completion date of the contract and weren't even 1/3 complete, I was cancelling the job and wanted to work with him to get back what I was owed.

It's been nearly two weeks since that happened, and the only thing I've heard from this person was that he had itemized out his costs and would put it in the mail.

Suffice it to say, I probably won't be getting back any money.

Additionally, I found the following which John Cunningham says isn't true:

- his business license address belongs to a Dentist
- his vehicles have magnetic signs that include a "Home Depot" logo. I called Home Depot and they say they do not allow any contractors to use their logo.
- this business already had two unanswered complaints against them with the BBB.

Do not do business with this company. He is a smooth talker and says all the right things, but once the deal is done, you get ignored.
