Ripoff Lieing Cheating Fraudulent Sales practices

This company has a goal to ripoff every honest citizen they come in contact with. We had made an offer on one of their homes and it had been excepted. Before we made and offer we noticed that there was a vacant lot behind the houses across the street from ours. We ask what that was going to be used for. (we did not want a big building or anything being built on it) The told us it would be a city bike path and walking trail. The even wrote it on the platte map of the house and neighborhood.

Being from out of state and not knowing we accepted the answer and made plans to close on our new home. One month before we are to close we find out from UDOT Utah Department of Transpartation. That our new home sits in the center of what is known to be the corridor. The Corridor is for a MAJOR FREEWAY that is to be built. That walk path and bike trail was the cities way of keeping the corridor open for UDOT so that when they do build they won't have to condem as many houses. Now I know why the land for the house was so cheep and now I know why the contor of the housing project bordered the Corridor. This builder knew, So did many other builders we have later spoken with.

Under Utah law he had the obligation to inform us the customer of any plans to or developments that would severly impact the value of the property. He did not and still refuses to. When we confronted him he believes he did not have have to tell us because it is a 20 year plan and public knowledge. I say if I were to live in that house knowing that a freeway was going to be built there, and if I were to sell it to someone else I would be under the same obligation to disclose that fact to them as he would to us. Needless to say we got out of the deal and have lost the home. OH and the realy nice part about all of this is the builder keeped MY earnest money 1000.00 I hope he can be honest with his Clergy because he certainly is not with his customers.
