Hettingers Backyard and Power Store
Unacceptable Service

Construction & Repair

This summer we took two of our lawn tractors to this store in Galesburg, MI after a friend recommended them. We waited three weeks and when we called they said parts were on order. A couple of weeks later the tractors were returned. We spent about $600. Within a couple of days we ran the John Deere and within a couple of minutes a belt went flying off. The other tractor a Toro, had a terrible blade sound and we later learned they hadn't even looked at it. We were told by an employee and later the owner that they had fixed both tractors and that we must have broken them again. They refused to provide an invoice so we only had their word on what repairs they had completed. They said they had replaced belts yet I have pieces of old belts that came off right away when the John Deere was started. They have never apologized, they have not refunded the money we paid the. I took the tractors to another repair shop and have a detailed invoice on all of their repairs and how they clearly documented that the said repairs at Hettingers had not been done. The owner has not responded to phone calls or letters. We would not recommend this business to anyone. We have asked them for our money back and a copy of the invoice but have heard nothing.
