Ripped Us Off

In 1997, I went to Marlo Furniture on Rockville Pike, in Rockville, Maryland. My wife and I spent all day with a salesman and picked out about $2000 worth of furniture. When it was delivered, we realized that they did not give us the glass tables that we ordered for our living room. We were very upset so we called them and they told us it was an oversight and that we could wait another month for them to be delivered (we had already waited a month for the first delivery) or drive to their Northern Virginia store that day and pick them up ourselves. We raced down to the Virginia store and were given only one of the tables. They said we would have to drive back to Rockville to get the other one. We raced back to Rockville, pissed off, but relieved that we would finally have all of our furniture. When we got the tables home, we unwrapped it and the pieces were all scratched, chipped, mismatched, and missing essential connctor joints. After many angry phonecalls we found out that the style had been discontinued, so they just gave us floor samples! Nobody told us that when we ordered the stuff. We had to go to the store several times because "the manager was not in." After dozens of phonecalls and visits to the store and theats to dispute the charges on our credit card, they offered us a 5% discount on the used crap they had already sold us and a $25 gift certificate (needless to say nothing in that store is that inexpensive). We did not have the time (we were in the process of relocating here) or energy to keep chasing after them and fighting over this so we just took the offer.

Don't shop at Marlo! Their service is horrible!
