I bought a 2005 Cadillac Escalade in 2012 that was still covered by warranty, about a month after the warranty expired the rpm gauge started acting up (sticking, not reading correctly, etc) then the mph gauge then the trans temp gauge so forth and so on, after doing some online research i discovered that this was an ongoing issue with a lot of GM vehicles (Escalade, Tahoe, hummer, etc) i took the vehicle to Edmorse Bayview Cadillac and was pretty much treated like i was homeless and was begging for cash, such a bummer especially since i was the proud owner of a fleetwood, then a cts, then the escalade. They told me they could not help me since the warranty was up even though other cadillac dealers in other states were honoring their customers with the same issue and no warranty. Not long after i was brushed off i was pulled over by the police for speeding (luckily i didn't get into an accident) but he let me slide being that i showed him the mph gauge which was stuck at 80, he also advised me to call GM, so i called GM directly and spoke to a lady by the name of ruby, i explained my situation and told her i was strapped for cash at the moment, she convinced me to take the SUV back to Cadillac and pay 60 bucks to have a diagnostic done and she would work with me from there, well i wasn't too happy of the outcome, Cadillac said the whole cluster needed to be replaced and it would cost about 785, then the slap in the face came when i was informed by GM that i was on my own, so i guess me and my families safety (OUR LIVES) really don't amount to 785, and oh yea didn't we just recently bail this company out of a modern day turmoil? But this is the thanks i get for purchasing 3 GM vehicles and was honestly thinking about purchasing another one next year, (NOT GONNA HAPPEN CAPTAIN) Might just go foreign this time, I paid about 22,000 dollars for this vehicle but my life is not worth 785, i really think there should be a Kelly blue book for humans. Me = 1 unhappy consumer!!!
