Teavana
Product infested with bugs

Construction & Repair

I spent ~$70 for 6 tiny tins of iced tea and had it sent as a gift around April 30. I found out that the gift recipient used one of the tins partially within a few weeks of receipt then did not use anymore for a few months.in this time, the unused tins remained sealed.

She decided a few months later to have some and ALL of the tins were infested with bugs. Apparently Teavana does not irradiate via UV light or wash the wet tea leaves. Apparently, the leaves had insect eggs on them that were sealed up and hatched in the tins. It was absolutely disgusting - larvae and webs in all of the tins including those that had been kept factory sealed. Thankfully nothing else in the pantry was infested.

Teavana was contacted multiple times - their response "thank you for letting us know". No apology, no offer to replace the product, provide a gift certificate or a credit. The associate closed my "case" then sent a survey about how she did. I opened a new case and it was immediately closed with a notation that I had already contacted them. Bottom line - not only did Teavana send an infested product (which was partially used) but they did not stand behind their product when it was called to their attention.

I have now gone into two stores in CO to get assistance. Same old story - we will take your number and have our district manager call you. A month later my phone is still silent.
