Charged $50 Fee to Answer Part Number Question

My son's laptop is out of warranty, so when we called HP to get a P/N to fix his laptop they wouldn't give us the info without a $50 fee. They said, and I quote, "I can't answer your question without charging you $50." Outrageous!!! HP just lost my future business, and I hope yours too!!!
