Extended Warranty

Bought Toshiba M105-S3064 notebook for $1085.74 plus 3-year jewelry update for $129.99 plus 3-year TOUCH warranty for $369.99, all from CompUSA on 8/11/06. Numerous issues with notebook has needed support five times First 2 were immediately with CompUSA. After CompUSA shut down, unearthed that Assurant had absorbed liability for guarantee. Following 3 repairs were with Assurant. After sixth period, required and obtained authorization to obtain alternative pc per guarantee. First present was a refurbished Entrance appreciated at $600. Not appropriate. Next was a much better but discontinued Toshiba appreciated at $750. I am only a little leary of another Toshiba after my encounter using the first one. Additionally uncertain about how exactly Assurant alternative plan works-appears like they simply would like to get out with as small price as you can. Has someone else experienced related issue with Assurant?
