Unfair repossesion practices

We were financing a 2000 mountaineer from credit connections in harrisburg, we had the car about 13 months on a 2 year lease. We were on time with the payments up until the beginning of october. They repossesed the car on tuesday, october 13th, but we were also told that we would have the opportunity to pay the outstanding balance which we were prepared to do that friday.

Come friday morning, when I was finally able to speak to them after calling since weds. Morning we were told that we wouldnt be getting the car back unless we paid the full loan balance, why you ask? There is a clause in the contract that states, 'tampering with the GPS locater is cause for immediate termination of contract'.

Now back in july, I replaced the starter but the car still wouldnt start so I took the car to my mechanic and he got it running again. At this point he told me that the reason was a group of wires that were protruding from under the dashboard one of which was the ignition wire, another one was the wire for the GPS.

I noticed the group of wires hanging from under the dash on the driver's side soon after we got the car but never bothered with them mainly because I didnt know what they were but I could clearly see that they had previously been cut and taped.

So basically between the down payment, by-weekly payments, and repairs were out about $3,000 and no one will even speak to us.

My wife and I are not thieves, nor are we dishonest people, but because people have disabled the GPS locators on their vehicles and stolen them we are automatically put in that catagory
