Ripoff they're gonna try to keep at least 70 bucks

I needed to cut expenses everywhere I could. Within 3 days of dealing with Esurance, I knew I was making a mistake and requested cancellation. They told me they'd call back, they never did; I dealt with over 10 different employees, wrote down all their names, almost every one of them told me they'd call back within an hour or two, none EVER did. Good thing I allowed my 21st Century coverage to lapse by only two days.in the end, they were happy to have me back, complimentary waiver on two days w/o coverage with them, no problem. THAT is the mark of a good insurance company.

I very much had the feeling that I was being scammed by Esurance. I started writing them letters when they refused to give me a full refund. They claimed 50 dollars in non-refundable cancellation fees and another 20 dollars for something I never did understand. When I wrote to the California Department of Insurance and initiated a case against them, I got a letter from Esurance asking me for proof of something that I had long since already provided them and which information they had all along. Within a few weeks, they finally refunded $50 more, but I never got a full refund and it took months to resolve, dozens of phone calls and letters to not only Esurance, but to the CA St. Dept of Insurance.

Eventually, they repaid nearly all of the money I gave them. Mind you, I was never out of coverage with 21st Century and they knew this, they just tried to say that I was without coverage for 2 days and I had to prove it multiple times with information that was in their hands all along. Something is very fishy with this 'cheap insurance' company. I hate to think of what may have happened if I were their insured and had an accident. I'm sure getting them to pay would be just as tricky. Never buy cheap insurance—lesson learned!
