My son went to them to try to buy a car. He knew going in it would be difficult to get financing: he's 19, has no credit, has only been on his current job 2 months. He had a trade-in and a small amount of cash for down payment.

Allen put together a deal on a 2013 Elantra coupe, fully loaded, supposedly was getting him 8.9% financing. I was very skeptical that any lender would take this deal but he insisted that it would go through, and my son drove off with the car.

All through the next week Allen was calling and texting my son, telling him that various lenders had declined the deal but 'the next bank' would do it. He told my son to falsify his pay stub to show that he had been on the job 8 months so it would go through. Finally, after a week, Allen called and admitted that the deal wasn't going to work, and told my son to bring the car back.

When he arrived at the dealership, Allen told him that they couldn't locate his trade in. After a while, he came back and said that it was already on the transport to auction but he could have it back by 6 am the next day. My son went home and thought about it and called Allen back; this time Allen could magically have the truck available at 9:30 that night, but my son decided to wait until the next day to pick it up.

When we looked (too late) at the BBB website, we found that several of hte people who had filed complaints or negative reviews of Nick Mayer Hyundai had the same experience - they drove off the lot with a new vehicle; several weeks later they would be told that the deal fell through, but their trade in would have disappeared when they went to reclaim it. I have to wonder what benefit Nick Mayer Hyundai gets from having someone put a few hundred miles on a new vehicle - do they get some kind of credit from Hyundai? They are also attempting to charge him mileage for the time he was driving the car, but he is refusing to pay this.

I wish we had done some research ahead of time; I have found many, many negative reviews for this dealership.
