Gibsonia Cycle of., doesn't back thier product!

Cars & Transport

Late in 1999 I bought a 1998 Suzuki 1400 Intruder with only. 5 miles on the odometer. As I drove it off the lot I found that the speedometer was not working. They remedied the situation by taking the hub off of another customers bike and using the parts to fix mine.
Approximately 1 week later I brought the bike in with a list of things wrong with it ranging from rusting steel bolts on the transmission casing to trouble starting the motor and discolored exhaust pipes. The owner of the store, David W. Turner whom I purchased the bike from originally, told me to put another 1000 miles on it and see if anything changes. Little did I know that this would be only the beginning of my problems with this bike!
So I took the bike on a road trip to Philadelphia, Pa. And back to Pittsburgh. As I was traveling back on the turnpike the foot peg fell off, the brakes were worn to nothing front and back, and the brake light sensor fell off, hit the exhaust, blew the main light fuses and I almost got rear-ended by a woman who didn't know I was stopping because I had no lights.
Needless to say this is not the only problems I have had with this bike. When I took it back to Mr. Turner I had to threaten him with litigation to get anything done. He eventually took the bike and kept it for over three months.
When I was finally called to pick up my bike I went to the dealership and it still wasn't done but it was sitting outside in a caged area with the keys in it, exposed to the elements and rusty, but it also had footprints across the seat as if it had been walked across to get to the other side more than once.
Ultimately I tried to hire a lawyer but the money I would get in return was such a pittance that I would still be paying for a bike I didn't own. It seems that there is no Lemon Law for motorcycles in the state of Pa.
I have detailed information on all the things that have been wrong with the service of Gibsonia Cycle but have never been given a receipt or explanation of services rendered from Gibsonia Cycle. They cover thier tracks very well!
A WARNING to anyone thinking of buying or servicing thier bike at Gibsonia Cycle Center of Allison Park, Pa. Don't do it!!! They are there to sell and they do that well but when you have problems, which you undoubtedly will, they will not help and you may even be called a few choice obsenities by his mechanics.
If you are thinking that you could go to Suzuki in California to remedy your problems, think again! Suzuki of California does not back the products they sell or the dealers who sell them!
I now have a 1998 piece of garbage Suzuki 1400 Intruder with 3000 miles on it that sits in my yard under a tarp with the rotors rusted, the chrome peeling off the heads and other parts, and the worst part is I'm still paying full coverage insurance along with my loan payment! I should have bought a Harley or Kawasaki. If there is a next time... I will...
