RIPOFF Parts not changed that I was charged fo

A few months ago I couldn't get my truck to start. I was lucky enough for it to be a stick shift and was able to push start it.

I took it to the Midas on McKnight Rd.in Pittsburgh, PA. John, who works the front counter there told me to leave it and they would look at it for free, and call me with a diagnosis.

When he called me I was told that I needed a new starter. The truck had around 100,000 miles on it and I thought it was probably worn out anyway. I gave him the go ahead.

Ninety two days later the starter went out again. I took it to a mechanic friend of mine who told me that the starter had DEFINITELY NOT been replaced. Only the bendix had been changed.

The teeth were rounded off on the gear reduction box inside the starter. That only happens with extended use. There was also excessive rust all over the outside of the starter which doesn't usually happen in the summer anyway.

I called to tell Midas what had happened and John told me there was nothing he could or would do because it was two days past the warranty period. I will never trust another Midas employee again.
