Service Department Supposedly repairing a vehicle under warranty and charging me to do it. Claim where I had my oil changed did something incorrectly. Vehicle was still doing the same thing after I paid for a repair of over $300. Ripoff

After having my oil changed my vehicle began to smoke. I took it to the dealership was told that it appeared to have sludge in the motor. They explained that I would have to provide them with proof of oil change records as they felt it had not been properly maintained and therefore they would need approval from the corporate office before they began any repairs.

I contacted my mechanic and he was irate. He then called them and explained that the car had indeed been properly maintained and felt as if they were trying to pull something. He then told them he would be coming over there and show them what the problem was. They explained that they had already taken the engine apart and it would not be possible. He immediately hung up and walked across the street with his lead mechanic. Low and behold the car was sitting in the same place as it was 2 days prior. They told him they would fix it and have it ready the following day. It was for a nice tidy sum of over $300.

About half way home the car began smoking again. After arriving home he called the service department and was told to bring it back in. They now want to see the oil change records and must wait for a reply from the corporate office.

After incurring expenses of repairing my truck and the rental of a car to transport me to and from work, I am out over $500.00 for a fully warranted car. What's a consumer to do!
