On Aug. 27 we left our 97 Ford at this dealership. On 8-31 we signed all the papers and gave an additional $800 and left with a Jeep. The was not yet payed off when the time came for another payment due so we payed it with the understanding that we would be refunded.

On Oct. 7 I took the Jeep to have some work done, Oct 9 I called to see if it was done and was told that the Jeep could no longer be financed and that we had to find something else. At this time Octobers payment had also been made, still no payoff. Finally, due to the fact we had to go out of town due to 2 family deaths, we bought a Nissan Maxima totally defeated the purpose of trading in our car.

When Nov. Came another payment on the Ford was withdrawn from our bank account. This now made the payoff $795 less than in the paperwork. The vehicle was paid off on Nov. 23, almost 3 months after the trade - in was made. We only got a $123 refund. That's $ 672 less than what we were owed.

Now it is Jan. 8,02 and I have found out that our tags were NEVER transferred. Due to this, the DMV has charged us a fine because you are only allowed 30 days after the trade to transfer. It has been over 120 days. I transferred our insurance promptly after getting both vehicles, so in the DMV's eyes we allowed our insurance to lapse on the Ford because that is who the tags are for.

I spoke to lawyers and everything. The best any of them to tell us to do was sue and unfortunately that was not something we could afford. I hope know one else has to go through this.
