Scooter Depot
Sunny Sports Horrible Customer Service and technical support. Non-existant management

Cars & Transport

I purchased a 150 cc Moped scooter earlier this month. Since we were local, we went to the showroom where we purchased and picked up the bike. Showroom is an understatement! It was a warehouse with some of the bikes already assembled. The offices were sparse, ugly and dirty and amounted to no more than carpeted warehouse space. The sales staff sat in a large room with desks butting up against each other (similar to cubicles but without the walls.) Technical support consisted of 7 desks in an adjoining, stuffy room.

We purchased our bike on a Saturday because they stated they were open 365 days a year. When we arrived, there was only 2 people in the office. Because I am in California, only certain bikes were "street legal." This amounted to 3 choices. But they had one I really liked so we spent the $1400. We had to return on Monday to pick it up, which we did.

While we waited in the receiving dock, I noticed that the "showroom" model that we had seen on Saturday was no longer on the floor. The gentleman finally brought our bike, spoke no English, and proceeded to show me how to start it. It was the floor model even though I was charged a $120 "assembly fee."

We were able to get it home with no problems. After about a week, it started leaking gas. I called technical support, and although I am not a mechanic, I am not afraid or unfamiliar with an engine. This guy was absolutely no help. I explained the problem, explained where it was coming from, but he couldn't tell me what the part was. He told me what I needed to do, but didn't give me the correct direction on where to find it or how to get to it. I tried to call back later in the day, but kept getting the sales dept. They just told me the lines were busy and to call back. One woman even told me to call back in 15 minutes. It was 4:55 and the tech support closed at 5:00. When I questioned her about why she would tell me to call after closing, she said she had "just found out their hours." (I call bull#@*t because they are all within yelling distance of each other.) The sales dept. Couldn't answer my questions, couldn't transfer me, and when I asked for a supervisor I was put on hold for so long I finally hung up.

Today, the bike won't start or turn over at all. Not even manually. I am very disappointed. Ever since high school I have wanted a moped. As a 20th anniversary gift, my husband wanted to give me my dream. What a nightmare! I am hoping I can get a motorcycle mechanic to help.
