Will not honor their own warranty and they lied!

I purchased a replacement Honda Civic engine for my 1991 Civic (I had over 240,000 miles on my old one)

The engine was filthy. On the head/overhead camshaft area, I used a steel brush and a vacuum cleaner to remove and suck up the filth so it would not enter the engine. The oil pan contained a lot of dirt, carbon, etc. The oil pickup tube filter screen was almost completely blocked. I removed the tube and cleaned and removed the blockage.

Because the engine was as dirty as it was, I changed the oil filter at 50 miles. When I open the filter, I found no metal, but a lot of dried oil chips, dirt, carbon, etc, in the filter.

I was driving down the interstate at about 70 mph to do nothing more than put enough miles on the engine so that I could change the oil and filter at 100 miles. I felt a loss of power and looked in my rear view mirror to make sure I was not going to be run over by the car I had just passed and saw nothing but smoke coming from the car. The engine had destroyed itself.

I found a hole in the engine. I checked the cylinder compression and found 0 compression on numbers 3 and 4 cylinders. I checked and found no vertical movement on numbers 3 and 4 pistons. It was evident that the engine had thrown the 3 and 4 rods.

I was going to be near Houston so I arranged to personally return the engine. When I took it back, Dina said that the engine had obviously been abused and "hot-rodded!" I am a 62 year old man with a 1991 Honda Civic Station Wagon! My old engine lasted for over 240,000 miles! I am a mechanic. I know engines.

When I disputed the bill with my credit card company, Dina lied in her response. She said I pushed the motor on the ground at her lot and drove off. I picked the motor up and placed it on a pallet. She is the one who chased me off the lot.

These people are very dishonest. I wish I would have found this website or looked at the Houston BBB web page. I would have found that there are a lot of people that have trouble with ASAP Motors.
