Overcharging for damage, taking a cut on parking tickets London

The London, UK branch of Enterprise rent-a-car are basically looking to gouge consumers wherever possible. Another car backed into my wife as she was driving our family car so we were given a 'free' Enterprise vehicle by our insurance company. The company tried to compel us to take on extra insurance at around 7-8 per day to get the deductible from 350 to zero. We didn't take it, but whem we returned the vehicle without a scratch they claimed three tires had cuts in them and charged us 100 per tire. They claimed the tires were pristine when we rented the car even though these weren't checked upon rental. The fact of normal wear and tear over 5 weeks of London roads is apparently no excuse for not showing up with picture-perfect tires!

I also made the mistake of driving in a bus lane with a camera in a strange lane setup where there are two separate left turn lanes. Enterprise was late sending me the tickets so I made the mistake 6 times. I appealed, but whatever happens, Enterprise is determined to take a 35% markup on all tickets as an 'administration fee' (presumably for passing on the information in a 35p letter a week or two late!) It seems that once they have their claws into you, they are like a loan shark and will try to extract every penny they can from you. We have to work to earn our money but Enterprise just steals from hard-working people and it's about time they paid for it in lost business.

My advice: go with another firm or you will pay, pay, pay.
