Champion Dodge
Abusive practices involving credit solicitation to 3rd parties

Cars & Transport

We went to the dealership to look at a few models. We were in need of potentially buying a car. We spoke to a salesman about our interest in looking at a few vehicles. We knew we had credit problems and we mentioned it to the salesperson. They knew up front what our scenario was. We stated we knew we probably would not get approved. The salesperson asked us how do we know we won't be approved. He asked me for my name and social security number and some basic information. I gave him name, SSN, address, and job informant ad income. He showed us one credit report. Score was 717. We haven't chosen or agreed to buy a car. We didn't test drive one. We only glanced at a few models. I was under the impression of my credit being ran only by them. A week later, I received a few declined letters. I wondered why so many and why if we didn't select a car we were declined. The salesperson alsoentioned other lady there was approved with BK. We had mentioned our BK to him. We left. Over past few weeks got more declined letters. Had 5-7 of them. I am complaining because they try to approve you before you select a vehicle and they solicit your credit and information to 5 or more financial companies without your knowledge. This is an unfair business practice. Don't buy from this shady dealership.
