California Coastal Recovery - Western Union
Coastal Recovery, Inc. And Western Union rip-off! My car has been repo'ed due to a Western Union failure to transfer my payment correctly. Nationwide

Cars & Transport

On June 28 I was walking outside to my car to begin my day which includes taking my twin girls to daycare and then to work. I walked outside to find that my car had been towed. My first thought was it was stolen, being that my payments were current (to my knowledge).
Come to find out the car had been repo'ed due to a Western Union failure to transfer my payment correctly which has caused me over $300 in repo fees that were not my fault.

My car was Towed by California Coastal Recovery. After getting the lienholder (Western Finanacial Services) to release my car to me I was given the number to California Coastal. After speaking with a young lady several times throughout the day she said she had finally gotten my release forms. She then explained to me that I had to obtain a Repo Release Receipt from SDPD before I could pick up my car. This was told to me around 4pm on a Friday afternoon, keep in mind that I spoke with this same individual 3 other times earlier this day.

She then told me that SDPD stops giving the Release forms out at 3:30pm, so that meant that I had to wait over the 3-day weekend, due to the July 4th holiday, to obtain the Release. On Tuesday Morning I contacted California Coastal again. Once again the same young lady tells me around 2pm this time that I have until 3:30pm to get a Release form. I told her I do not get off of work until 3:30, I then called the Eastern Division Police Dept who gives the Release forms out until 5pm.

I ended up having to pay California Coastal Recovery for an extra 3 days of storage fees which in total came up to $189, which would have not been incurred if it weren't for the companies false information they were giving to people. When I got the the office to pick up my car, I was told that I could see or look in the vehicle until I signed a form saying that I was given back the car and all my Personal Property, I found this to be odd, so I did not sign I initialed.

When looking in my car I found that my inside trunk lock was broken, CD's were thrown around the car in disarray and 2 pairs of shoes were missing from the trunk of my car that I had purchased for my twin daughters. After addressing these issues with the "Employee in Charge" on the premises I was told that she would have to owner get in contact with me.

I have not heard anything or receivied any type of empathy to my situation. California Coastal Recovery Inc. Should be in the Usa Consumer Complaints.com for their negligence and failure to return vehicles back in the same state in which they obtained them.
