Went to purchase in good faith a used motor home from Colton RV on February 25. This would be the third visit to the dealer (Colton RV), with an interest in two different RV's. I should of known things where fishy with Colton when the person that answered my internet inquiry was different from the people that I was passed off to as "motor home specialists", which in total was five plus the sales manager.

I had heard from my brother in law and a camping acquaintance about Coltons pricing and sale pitch. Being what I considered somewhat of an educated consumer, and Colton had two different RV's my wife and I would be interested in, and being in the sales field myself, I though I was in the position to look at the models Colton had two offer. On my second visit, last Saturday, Feb. 18, the salesman, Craig Schieder and I spent about two and a half hours going over each interested rig.

I had left a voice mail before hand with Craig that my wife was out of town but I would keep our prior scheduled appointment, review both vehicles, and get some "working numbers" to work with whether we were in the ball park from both sides of what we were looking at on a financial basis. Craig was pretty accommodating with giving me "working figures" to talk to my wife about with my promise to meet the following Saturday (02/25) with her to perhaps finalize a deal on one rig or another.

Well, on 02/25 as I promised, we met with my wife for a review of the interested RV's. Craig's first response was "Which one did you decide oh" and my wife chimed in, I want to look at both. Craig's response, "The Itasca (more expansive) was just transferred to our other location because we have a deal pending on it. I asked, what did it sell for, his response, I don't know, its just happening! My feeling is they hid the other Rv to smoke us out on making a choice on one or the other.

Ok, so we view again (my 3rd) the less expensive RV, take it for a test ride and determine we want to go forward with a purchase based on purchase figures I discussed the week before with Craig Schieder. Well, lo and behold, the price Craig I and talked about without my wife (out of town) the week before (02/18) was now $9,000 more than the prior week! Talk about low balling! Of course Craig Sh*tter, oh, I'm sorry, Schieder claims he never gave me the lower price.

I showed him my notes that I wrote in front of him on 02/18 and he just sorta adadadad! We left promptly, with my words being that we would never do business with Colton Rv. Buyer Beware, these guys wrote the book on low ball bait n switch pricing, which is ironic because both previous people (brother in law and acquaintance) had warned beforehand of just they tactics by Colton RV of North Tonwanda New York. Run, do not walk away from this RV dealer!!!
