Ripoff they will not honor damaged goods

I used a parts search engine to find an engine for my Buick Regal Custom. This was one of the companies that responded with an engine that only had 41,000 miles and a 6 month warranty for only 595.00, so I called them. They said the engine was ready to ship and would arrive in 10 business days.

I ordered the engine and 10 days later nothing arrived at the shipping company who was supposed to receive it. I called the shipping company and they said they had no status of any order. I called Mid-city and they told me they were sorry, that the shipping company dropped the engine in Illinois and were finding me another engine with the same mileage, etc. I said ok, and to let me know this time when the engine arrives. They said ok. I called back almost two weeks later and the engine had been sitting at the shipping company with noone attempting to contact me. It was pouring down rain so I got the guy to forklift it out to my truck and took it home.

When I arrived home, I removed the plastic wrap and to my astonishment their stood an engine that had obviously rolled around on the ground for a while. Most of the electronic sensors had been broken, and the intake manifold, exhaust manifolds were scraped up, the throttle body was chipped and broken, the engine hangers were completely bent over the valve covers, the fuel rail was bent, and multiple other damages had occured.

I called the guy at Mid-city Auto Salvage the next day and he said all of that occured taking the engine out and I should use the other parts off of my old engine to replace them. I said I wanted half my money and he refused. I have been doing engine work for 13 years and also worked at Dodge as a mechanic. I know an abused/damaged engine when I see one. If parts removers actually did this to this engine, then they they need to get out of the business, but the guy was lying to me. He still told me there was a six month warranty on the engine nevertheless, so I am going to just replace everthing and go on, because I don't have the time.

Buyer beware of this company if you are looking for used auto parts/engines!
