Liar, liar - he sold me a junk car that had been in an accident

This man who is the owner, sold me a 2003 Honda Civic. The exterior was fair and the interior had minor cosmetic work.

After driving it home I called to complain that the airbag light was on, thus indicating it had been in an accident. He swore up and down that it was not an accident car they light did not work right and he would never sell me a car like that because he could lose his license.

Within a week the bumper had shifted and was coming loose. When I took it in to him he said he said he had replaced the bumper and he would fix this too. Again I asked 'replaced the bumper after an accident?' and he claimed no it was damaged at auction.

Upon inspectiion by our mechanic he found many of the exterior pieces, in the back of the car, had been replacements.

I returned to the dealership and offered him a chance to do right by us. I said I was willing to accept another car from the lot or I wanted my approximately $2000 back. He refused and said he was in his right and that I should leave.

A few troubled months later my stepson was driving when he had a major accident. Not only did the airbag not go off, but the car basically crumbled. (considering the crash was in front why was the back fenders and such coming apart?)

Even with his outright lies he still made out like a bandit, selling an accident car and still ending up with the $5000 insurance setllement.
