To Whom It May Concern:

I have never been so insulted before.

11
I went to Kings Jeep / Kings Jeep Auto Mall in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 23 to purchase a new Jeep Wrangler. I was in need of a four wheel drive vehicle before winter set in. I saw a Jeep in the lot that I really liked. A 2004 Jeep Wrangler/Columbia Edition. The only thing that was wrong is that it did not have air conditioning.

I spoke to the salesman Doc Watson, and he told me that if I purchased the vehicle and paid for the air conditioner that they would install it. I asked him at that time, if another Jeep Columbia would be coming in soon with air-conditioning already in it. He said he had no way of knowing, or the chances would be slim. I really liked the Jeep and was in need of one.

He told me, if I bought the Jeep without air that they would install it, and it would be Jeep/Mopar parts that would be put on the vehicle. He also told me it would be a couple weeks for him to schedule me in to have it put on. I purchased the Jeep and paid for the air-conditioner to be installed.

Weeks went by and I heard nothing from the dealership. I called them in December to see what was going on. Doc told me at that time, that they did not have the specs ready for the 2004 Wrangler and that he had to wait for that in order to add the air conditioning.

Weeks went by, I heard nothing, I then called back and he then told me that they Jeep no longer provided air conditioning parts and that they would have to find them somewhere else. He also told me that some guy was wanting to by a Jeep without air, and if this guy bought the Jeep they would take the air conditioning unit off of that one and put on mine. (which sounded pretty stupid to me) but at least it would be mopar parts. I waited, and more weeks went by,

I heard nothing from the dealership. I called again, and got the same story about the guy wanting a jeep with no air. Then, I was driving down the road and all the lights in the my jeep was flashing, I had to take it in, the multifunction switch had gone bad, so they had to fix it. I had to pay for a rental that day.

3
Now, it is March, and I still did not hear from them on the air conditioner. So I went in person. I told them that their time was up. I asked why no one had called me about the air conditioning, and why I had to stop in at this point to get it taken care of. Suddenly, when I showed up in person, Doc told me they would install the air conditioner that week. I asked Doc, with all the BS he had given me about the parts, what they would be putting on the Jeep. He said they would take it off of one on the lot and put on mine. I told him that I did not want any after market parts put on my Jeep, for that is not what I paid for. He said that they would not.

I dropped it off, and they installed the air conditioner. When I picked it up, Doc told me that they had to order the parts, and it came from somewhere other than off the lot or off a new vehicle. I asked to see the invoice for the air conditioner unit so I would know what they put on it. He would not show it to me.instead he wrote on a piece of legal paper that he would pay for the air conditioner himself, if it did not work. (I knew then, that I was not getting what I paid for)

Then a week later, the air conditioner stopped working. I took it back in, they fixed it. (supposingly) A couple weeks later, the air conditioner stopped working, AGAIN. This is where things just got ridiculous! When I called Doc to tell him the air conditioner was not working again, he said that they would not be able to fix it and that he would give me the dealership discount and trade me out of my vehicle into something better. (I thought this was a good idea, since they did not give me what I bought)

I dropped off my Jeep, AGAIN. Doc called me the next day and said he had worked up some numbers and could get me a Jeep Sahara for $10.00 more dollars a month. I thought that he was doing this because I had so many problems with my Jeep and that were going to trade me out this deal due to the fact that they could not deliver what they had promised me, and what I had paid for. I told him to hang onto the numbers and that I would be over to discuss with him the next day.

When I got there, I thought the dealership was doing the right thing, and I was happy to be relieved of all the frustration and BS I was getting over the air-conditioning issue. I was ready to drive a new jeep home.inSTEAD, I got this. When I got to the dealership the Sahara was all cleaned up and I took it for a test drive, then I sat down to discuss the numbers. The dealership had wrote it up as a trade in. They were going to give me 15,000 for my brand new jeep, that I paid 22,500 for! Then they added on 2 more thousand for the upgrade of the vehicle.

In other words, ripping me off by 7,000 dollars due to their mistake! I threw a fit, I was so insulted! They sold me something they could not deliver, then when they installed the air, they gave me after market crap instead of what they originally promised and then try to make me pay 7,000 more for a different vehicle! Then the BS that I was given about the $10.00 more a month was now 166.00 more a month and would be in debt for another 7,000! I explained to them to make this right, they need to give me full trade in of the 22,500 for a different vehicle. And that is where I left it.

I paid 22,500 for my Jeep in November. I put 10,000 down plus had paid in 1166.00 in payments. (I would have never of bought the Jeep if I knew they could not deliver what was promised) I would have never even drove it off the lot. But thinking I was going to get what I paid for, I did. I have to take the Jeep back four times in less than 5 months! And the dealership was wanting me to pay 7,000 more for a new vehicle!

They told me they are installing a new air conditioner unit today, however, I am back to square one. At this point I am just very disappointed and disgusted with the whole deal. I just want my money back, all $ 11,166.00 cash I have put into it, and the dealership to take their Jeep back. If I have another problem with it, I know from the fiasco yesterday that I will really be screwed. I feel that I did not get the vehicle that I wanted.

I called Chrysler's customer service today and spoke to Earl. Earl contacted the dealership and the dealership told him that I need to talk to Rob the General Manager at Kings Jeep. Earl called me back and told me to call Rob at Kings Jeep. I spoke to Rob general manager and he basically reinstated that they are fixing the air, and that they are putting after market parts made by some company in Texas on the Jeep. I asked him what will happen if I get the Jeep back and it does not work again. He simply stated that they would stand behind the air conditioning and they would fix it (again) if it did not work. So now I am back to picking up my Jeep with after market parts, which is not what we had agreed to at the time of the sale.

Rob said it was not realistic for me to think I could drive the Jeep off the lot and not take a loss on it. I told him, under normal circumstances that would be true. But in this case I have been driving the Jeep for 5 months without the parts that was agreed to at the time of the sale and that I did not get what I paid for.

Addition to letter:

I dropped off my jeep last Monday April 26th to have the air conditioner repaired, when I went in on the following Tuesday and was insulted by their offer, they said it was being worked on the next day, Wednesday April 28th. It was now Friday, the 30th and I heard nothing from them. I called the General Manager and left a voice mail, stating my frustration about not hearing anything after a week! When I got home, there was a message left on my machine, from Tim the mechanic, telling me they had not received the parts yet to fix the jeep. So therefore the General Manager had lied about the vehicle being fixed on Wednesday, for they did not even have the parts at that time. Now it is Monday the 3rd and still have not heard anything on my Jeep.

I notified an attorney regarding this matter and he wrote back that I may have a claim (revocation of acceptance) I contracted for goods of one quality and received something else

I called and left General Manager Rob a voicemail. I told him that when I pick up my Jeep that I will need the following waiting for me.
1) copy of service records on my Jeep
2) a written warranty from the dealership on the air conditioner unit
3) the invoice from where the parts were put on my Jeep (where they bought the parts from).

5-4
Tim from the service department called me around 1:00 to tell my the Jeep was fixed and that they were cleaning it up for me and I could pick it up. He stated that Rob told him to tell me the paperwork that I requested would be waiting at the service desk for me. I told Tim that I would be there around 6:00 P.M. This evening.

I received a call on my cell phone it was marked private. A women asked for Debra, I said this is Debbie. She said she just wanted to tell me that I was getting after market parts put on my jeep and that is why it is taking so long to get it fixed. I asked her how she got my number. She said she use to work there and her husband did too and that they were putting after market parts on my jeep and she just wanted to let me know, she said she got my number from work. She would not tell me her name, but she just wanted to let me know. I discussed this call with a co-worker at work as well as my friend who has been with me and witnessed their deception.
