Bought a 1997 Ford Taurus in Oct 00. Funny finacing (19.5% APR) over 54 months, with a not so reputable bank.
Anyway, got the car 10/28/00,2 weeks later, service engine light is own, car is doing funny things.
Took it in, told I needed a fuel pressure regulator, they would pay. This was $69 total cost. 3 weeks later, car acting worse, light comes on, stays on.
Took back, told that there was a 'history of cylinder 1 misfiring'. Somehow, that was missed on the first diagnostic check. YEAH RIGHT!
Well, now I was out of the 30 day lemon law clause, and had no extended warranty. Told that they would NOT pay. I needed a tune-up - would be about $300 total cost!!!
For the next 6 months, nothing but problems with 97 ford taurus. Took it to different mechanic, told it needed a new engine!
Could not afford to make $269 payments and pay thousands for a new engine. Volunatarily repossesed the car, now have a major defienciency, cause the piece o'crap only sold for $3,300. Owed $8,600!!!
No feedback from the general manager of the dealership, have been calling for 3 weeks now!!
