Steve - Owner / Proprietor Tried to Charge Double of Any other Garage in Area

This organization is run by a proprietor that has a reputation for over-charging. Upon delivering my BMW 328ci for repair via tow, I asked for an estimate for repairs. The owner, Steve, called me back and told me it would cost me $450.00 to replace a coolant reservoir. I, myself, having a hobby with cars, asked him how much the parts would be and he told me $128.00. I asked him how much time it would take him to replace the reservoir - and he told me 3 hrs. I subsequently called 4 other garages with prices varying from parts $65.00 -$80.00 and labor 1/2 to 1hr at $85/hr; for a grand total of about 1/3 to 1/2 the price given by Autoworks! When I confronted him, he blocked my car in and wanted a charge for assessment. He originally told me he wanted $95.00 for his time / phone time; then he said $50.00 cash - DO NOT USE THIS MECHANIC. After talking with locals, I heard several similar stories.
