Ripoff Peformed Premium Service Rebuild. Vehicle still does not work properly after taking it back several times

My son's vehicle was experiencing transmission problems. I called around and decided if it needed to be towed, we could use Cottman. They are very well known and supposedly have a good reputation.

They did their examination of the transmission, all the usual stuff, and called me to say well, you need several internal parts and well its going to be $2000. I live 16 hours drive from the service center, so I agree to the work. But I tell them not to start as I do not have the money and will need to make a loan for the repair. I call them back in a couple days and give them the go ahead. The vehicle has 135k miles on it, so I feel that there might be some credibility to the repair.

The repair is done and the vehicle is picked up. The vehicle has never performed much better than when it was taken in to start with. The vehicle has been back to the shop at least 5 times, and is going back again tomorrow March 2, again. I have sent messages to the Customer Service line with Cottman on 3 occasiosn and have yet to get a response. I am sure that there are some very reputable Cottman franchisees, but this one cannot get the problem fixed or wont. I have spent countless dollars on long distanc ephone calls, as well as my son not having transportation on several occasions. Every try working and living in a city the size of Atlanta without transportation?

I certainly should have looked more in depth about Cottman before I did this repair. I guess next step will be civil liability or finding another center to fix the problem.

I will say that at no time, anyone at the center has been rude or hard to work with. They are always apologetic, they just can't seem to fix the problem right the first time, you know like their President says
