Foul Business Practices

On May 3 I rented a car from Global Auto Inc. I was quoted a price of $268.93 for four days with 15.99 a day charge included for auto insurance. And I also placed a deposit of $171.03 cash down.

On May 5 I was pulled over by Nevada Highway Patrol and was notified that the car was not registered let alone registered to Global Auto Inc. And that there was no legal auto insurance on the car. I was ticketed for no insurance and non registration. I was also told by the officer that the car was illegally rented to me with dealer plates on them, and that the car was going to be towed. I notified the owner of Global Auto Inc., Ghassan by phone from the location I was stopped. He told me he was on his way to pick myself and my two children up and return us to the office of Global Auto Inc. Upon reaching the office Ghassan told me that for my inconvience he would replace the previous car and give me 2 free days of rental. Another contract was made for the new car with the same price quoted for the first car.

Upon returning the car on May 8 Ghassan informs me that I was being charged even more monies for taxes on the extra 2 days of rental. So now the total went from the $268.93 to $330.00. I told him that he never mentioned the taxes when offering me the car for an extra 2 days for the inconvience of being ticked. I also asked how he would rectify the citation for no registration and auto insurance. He gave me a copy of the auto insurance. When asked about the proof of registration he could only tell me that it was on the back license plate of said car that was towed. Now I am left with possibly having these infractions on my record. And having the cost any personal auto insurance purchased in the future go up do to these infractions.
